peristal use question

Postby darwin on Sat Aug 16, 2008 11:43 pm

i have been using the peristal for a while now. i got it for pain and pleasure reasons. it is an *amazing* device. my chronic pelvic pain has improved, whereas it is usually aggravated by kegels and the like. plus my bladder function has improved markedly.

also, it feels incredibly good to use it. it is kind of like being prescribed erotic massage for medical reasons.

here is my question (for support, probably). the instructions describe how to use the different models in a graduated fashion, starting with the biggest. typically, in any kind of graduated program (like weight lifting), there are specific criteria for when to move to the next level. but, such instructions are not supplied with the peristal.

what are the signs that i am ready to move to the next smaller model?

thanks,
darwin

Hello Darwin,

It sure is quiet over on this side! I'm assuming you are the same guy I know from the other side. Perhaps everyone over here is so busy enjoying their treatments that they have no time to post

I don't know the answer to your question, but I started off with the smallest Peristal because I was sore. Now my hemorrhoid is much smaller and the soreness has completely gone away. I've tried the larger models but still use the smallest the most. I think those of us who are already used to the prostate massagers have a head start and can benefit immediately from the smallest model.

Now that my hemorrhoid has improved so much, my naturopath advised me to put some witch-hazel in there, I think to strengthen the tissue. But he told me it could take months for the hemorrhoid to go away completely. He agreed that the Peristal is a great idea, especially as I'm enjoying it so much! I told him I keep it in at night to help keep the hemorrhoid from slipping down, but I'm not able to wear it during the day otherwise I'd have a permanent smile on my face and not be able to get any work done!

But for folks in general, if one is sore they may need to start off with the smallest, and then move straight to the largest once the soreness has gone away. I would recommend daily use for a good half hour and perhaps move to the next size down after a couple of weeks or so.

So come on all you folks out there. Get your Peristals out and let's hear from you ...

Best wishes,

GT

I have just joined and am interested in the prostate massager and the peristal. Briefly, I am having a routine check on my prostate which is slightly enlarged and I am having a test in a week's time just to make sure. After this I would like to acquire a massager, probably the smallest as I am under 5ft. 6" tall.
As for the peristal, I do not suffer from haemorrhoids (sorry, English spelling) but consider that its use would be beneficial in preventing any problems and keeping my anal canal in good shape. I am not new to inserting things in my anus as I like the pleasurable erotic sensation I get. I have a solid glass rod which is 2.25" long and .25" wide with a small bulbous tip. The rod is glued into a small cork making the total length some 3"
Sitting with this inserted into my anus and making small movements causes the rod to stroke my anal walls in a gentle way and the feeling is exquisite. My anus is so used to this now and feels "denied" if I remove it for any length of time. I can and do keep it up there for days and nights on end only removing it when visiting the toilet or for a short time after I have had an orgasm. I am fairly convinced, although I cannot prove it, that this devise has contributed to my anal wellbeing.
I think that when I order, I will specify the smallest peristal as I prefer the sensation of things that are no more than about the diameter of a standard enema catheter.
I presume you post to the UK but if not, I shall remain a member and wish you well for the future.
